Sidewalks of Krung Thep (Bangkok)

Story
“The Sidewalks of Krung Thep” (that is, Bangkok) is a title I believe can give an immediate idea of the photographic collection I created between 2012 and 2018.
Bangkok is a city that has hosted me countless times over the years, long before it was completely and definitively touristified from 2021 onwards. Today, it is indeed one of the most visited cities in the world.
Before its touristification, Bangkok was a city for the Thais, and as such, it teemed with real life, even in the most visited areas, such as the central district of Phra Nakhon.
The photographs shown here, which are just an excerpt from my archive concerning Bangkok, were taken in different parts of the city when I was trying to capture the essence of the city in its street life.
Racconto
“I marciapiedi di Krung Thep” (ovvero di Bangkok) è un titolo che credo possa dare un’idea immediata della raccolta fotografica che realizzai tra il 2012 e il 2018.
Bangkok è una città che mi ha ospistato innumerevoli volte nel corso del tempo, ben prima che fosse completamente e definitivamente turistificata dal 2021 in poi. Oggi è di fatto una delle città più visitate al mondo.
Bangkok, prima dela turistificazione, era una città per i thailandesi e come tale pululava di vita reale, anche nelle parti più visitate, come per esempio nel distretto centrale Phra Nakhon.
Le fotografie qui mostrate, che sono solo un estratto del mio archivio riguardante Bangkok, vennero realizzate in diverse parti della città, quando cercavo di catturare l’essenza della città nella sua vita da strada.
